The fourth term of 2026 starts on 29 August. Registration is now open.
Before comparing prices and schedules, settle one question first: which level do you start at? This decision is an important basis for everything that follows in the registration process.
How far does one term take you?
Our courses follow the Common European Framework (CEFR):
- 180 UE / 152 UE — one full level per term (e.g. A1, A2)
- 80 UE — half a level per term (e.g. A1.1, A1.2, A2.1)
From B1 onwards, each level is spread across more teaching hours; we’ll tell you exactly how far a given course takes you when we assess your level.
Complete beginners start at A1 (180/152 UE) or A1.1 (80 UE).
With prior knowledge, submit a language certificate or the certificate of attendance from your most recent German course — each no older than six months. You can then register directly for the next level. Without a current document, book a placement test and enroll in the matching level after the test. Appointments are arranged individually; you do not need to register first.

On-site (Jing’an District, at our Hengfeng Road or Jiaozhou Road locations; exact room sent by SMS and email no later than three days before the course starts)
Two courses are hybrid: part of the teaching takes place online. Please check that this works for you before registering.

Fees include the 100 RMB registration fee. Course materials are provided free of charge.
For students continuing with Goethe-Jinchuang
Language learning works through continuity. That’s why we support those who keep going with our best prices.
You qualify as a continuing student if either applies:
- You are enrolled in a current standard course of 80 UE or more at Goethe-Jinchuang Shanghai at the time of registration.
- You completed a standard course of 80 UE or more at Goethe-Jinchuang Shanghai and re-register within six months of completion.

In other words: after 11 August you still get, until 19 August at 15:00, the price that new students only had during the early-bird window.
Please note
- Minimum age 18.
- Minimum class size 12, maximum 20 (some rooms limited to 16). If the minimum is not reached, we will inform you one to two weeks before the start and offer a transfer or a full refund.
- Payment via WeChat mini-program, bank transfer, or on site (Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:30). All prices apply to all payment methods.
- Cancellation and refunds are governed solely by the current Training Service Contract, available on our website and in the mini-program.
