The PASCH initiative, together with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, invited to the sports field of the Guangzhou Traffic and Transport Vocational School on December 1st to give the Chinese learners of German in the region the opportunity to express their love for Germany through sport and language to lend. Months in advance, moves were rehearsed and proverbs juggled, so that on this Saturday for more than 10 hours, the focus was not on school but on having fun. In two seasons, school teams from grades 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 fought a total of 30 duels.
The muscles were allowed to regenerate during the non-playing period, whereas the gray cells now had to show what top form they could achieve. At four stations from the DAAD, the Goethe-Institut, the Goethe Language Learning Center and the Central Office for Schools Abroad, it was necessary to prove the knowledge of the country that the students already brought with them, because in addition to football skills, language skills should also be given a platform to get.
At the end of the long day, everyone was visibly exhausted but at least as happy. Crystal trophies were held up, medals put through a bite test, certificates presented to the proud parents and team photos taken.
