Full-time teacher of German as a Foreign Language at the SISU Goethe-Language Learning Center in Chongqing

The Goethe Language Learning Center at Sichuan International Studies University in Chongqing is a cooperation between the Goethe-Institut and Sichuan International Studies University (SISU). We offer German language courses and the Goethe-Institut’s official Goethe-Zertifikat examinations. To support our team, we are seeking one dedicated full-time teacher of German as a Foreign Language (DaF).

Candidate Profil:

If you are interested in this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • A university degree in German as a Foreign Language (DaF), German Studies, or Linguistics
  • Advanced knowledge of German (at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • Experience in teaching group lessons in German as a Foreign Language (DaF), ideally at various levels
  • Methodological and didactic expertise in the field of teaching German as a Foreign Language (DaF)
  • Familiarity with learner-centered and activity-oriented teaching methods
  • Willingness to undergo further training in the Goethe-Institut’s teaching methodology, to observe courses (online), and to complete a qualification phase if you lack prior experience
  • Intercultural awareness
  • Desirable: Previous extended stay in Germany
  • Teamwork skills
  • Interest in a long-term position of at least one year

Location:

The Goethe-Language Learning Center is located on the campus of Sichuan International Studies University in Shapingba District, surrounded by forests and mountains, with a direct underground connection to the city center (20-30 minutes). The air quality on campus is good, and the cost of living in Chongqing is lower than in other major Chinese cities such as Beijing or Shanghai.
