Florian Welzel studied geography, business administration, economics and ethnology at the University of Trier. Through his stays in Mongolia and Cameroon, he was able to explore both the GFL area and the work of the Goethe-Institut. After working as a project manager in a development cooperation, he joined a leading German industrial group in 2008. In his role as a marketing expert and strategy developer, he gained experience in China in Shanghai. After a bicycle trip that took him and his wife from Germany to China, he has been managing the JESIE Goethe Language Learning Center since April 2018.
“It’s the versatility that excites me about my new job. My mission is to offer interested people in Jiangsu an exciting, lively lesson for learning the German language and at the same time to give them access to German culture.”
